Information on Covid-19
In 2019, a new coronavirus was identified as the cause of a disease outbreak that originated in China. The virus is now known as the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
On February 11, 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) announced an official name for a disease that is causing the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, first identified in Wuhan China. The new name of the disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19.
ECO Family Health Center has implemented infection prevention and control practices for compliance and to provide safety to all Healthcare Personnel (HCP) and all patients using guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) during the pandemic of COVID-19.
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness that can be fatal. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. COVID-19 symptoms may include:
· Fever or chills
· Cough
· Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
· Fatigue
· Muscle or body aches
· Headache
· New loss of taste or smell
· Sore throat
· Congestion or runny nose
· Nausea or vomiting
· Diarrhea
